History with a Greek profile
Septona was founded in 1975, with cotton buds as its main product
In 1982, Thomas and Roe Evangeliou purchase 50% of the company, gaining full control 8 years later. Production is soon vertically integrated and the company grows, producing all the parts of the complete product, from plastic sticks and cotton wool to the final packaging. In 1992 the company adds a focus on exports while expanding into new products. In 2017 turnover exceeds €66.3 million, and in 2019 Septona proceeds to expansion of the production of liquid antiseptic products, sales of which – due to the circumstances – increase sharply from March 2020 onwards. Driven by the successful expansion of exports into new international markets and a significant increase in market share across all product categories in Greece, particularly in the baby wipes segment, the Group has achieved sustained double-digit sales growth over the past five years, with sales exceeding €160 million in 2025.
Investments from 2010 to 2022 come to €62 million, and investments for 2023-2024 exceeded €20 million.
Today, the company is one of the strongest producers of personal care and hygiene products globally, exporting to more than 70 countries on all 5 continents.
